Mustard Seeds Therapy

Pediatric Speech Therapy

Mustard Seeds Therapy provides pediatric speech therapy to help children build the communication skills they need for learning, social interaction, and daily life. Early identification and intervention are key, research shows that addressing speech and language challenges during the early developmental years leads to stronger long-term outcomes in school and social settings.

Our licensed and certified speech-language pathologists (SLPs) provide therapy for children across Nevada and California, including Las Vegas, Reno/Sparks, Henderson, and Los Angeles.

We offer in-home, and telehealth sessions for children of all ages — from toddlers to school-aged students. Each session uses a child-centered, play-based approach supported by evidence-based methods such as Hanen, PROMPT, and early language stimulation techniques.

If you’re looking for speech therapy for kids, speech delay therapy for toddlers, or early intervention programs, Mustard Seeds Therapy provides compassionate, evidence-based care to help children communicate with confidence.

Pediatric Speech, Language, and Communication Conditions We Treat

Our Pediatric Speech Therapy Formats

In-Home/Residential Therapy

Speech Therapy conducted in the home environment supports natural communication within familiar routines. This setting is particularly beneficial for children with expressive/receptive language delays, apraxia, or oral-motor challenges.

Teletherapy / Virtual Speech Therapy

Online speech therapy offers a flexible and effective option for families across Nevada and California. Virtual sessions support children with language, fluency, AAC, and pragmatic communication needs using interactive, evidence-based methods.

Family Training & Parent Consultations

Parent involvement is integral to progress. We provide structured coaching to help families integrate speech and language strategies into daily routines, encouraging consistent skill carryover and communication growth at home.

Age Groups We Support for Pediatric Speech Therapy

Our speech-language pathologists work with children from infancy through adolescence, addressing age-specific communication and feeding needs. Each stage of development brings distinct challenges, so therapy goals and methods are adjusted according to a child’s communication level and learning environment.

Infants & Toddlers
(Birth–3 Years)

We see children who aren’t babbling, have limited gestures, or are struggling to imitate sounds. Early therapy focuses on communication readiness—responding to name, turn-taking, and building first words. Families are coached in evidence-based strategies (like focused stimulation and modeling) to encourage progress between sessions.

Preschoolers
(Ages 3–5)

This is when sound development, vocabulary, and sentence growth accelerate. Many of our preschool clients come with articulation errors, phonological delays, or expressive/receptive language gaps identified by their pediatrician or preschool teacher. Sessions mix structured articulation work with play-based interaction, supporting both clarity and confidence.

School-Age Children
(Ages 5–12)

We work closely with students struggling to keep up with classroom demands—following multi-step instructions, understanding narratives, or managing word retrieval and grammar. Therapy targets academic language, fluency, and pragmatic use of language in social settings. Collaboration with teachers helps generalize progress to the school environment.

Adolescents
(Ages 13+)

For older students, therapy often centers on higher-level communication, organizing ideas, summarizing information, and improving self-monitoring in conversation. Many adolescents we see also work on fluency, social problem-solving, and communication for post-secondary readiness or job interviews.

Evidence-Based Pediatric Speech Therapy Methods

Our clinicians use only research-backed and ASHA-recognized therapy methods to address speech, language, and fluency challenges. Each approach is chosen based on a child’s diagnosis, learning style, and communication goals.

PROMPT Therapy (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets)

A tactile-kinesthetic approach designed for children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) and severe articulation issues. PROMPT helps children develop motor planning, sequencing, and speech clarity by using touch cues on the face and jaw. Only trained and certified SLPs deliver PROMPT therapy.

The Hanen Program

An internationally recognized, parent-focused model for late talkers and early language delay. Through programs like It Takes Two to Talk® and More Than Words®, parents learn strategies to embed communication opportunities in daily routines, proven to improve expressive and receptive language development.

The Lidcombe Program

A behavioral treatment developed for early childhood stuttering. It involves structured parent-led feedback during everyday speaking situations, under the guidance of a trained SLP. Multiple studies show significant reductions in stuttering frequency and improved fluency confidence in children under 12.

DIR/Floortime & Social Thinking

These play-based, relationship-centered frameworks support children with social communication challenges, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and pragmatic language deficits. Therapy helps build emotional connection, perspective-taking, and flexible social use of language.

AAC Systems (PECS & High-Tech Speech Devices)

For children who are nonverbal, minimally verbal, or have complex communication needs, our therapists provide Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) support, from Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) to tablet-based voice-output systems. AAC helps children express choices, thoughts, and emotions effectively while developing language comprehension.

Auditory-Verbal Therapy (AVT)

Used for children with hearing loss or cochlear implants, AVT focuses on developing spoken language through listening rather than visual cues. Therapy emphasizes early amplification, consistent listening practice, and parent participation, helping children integrate auditory input into natural communication.

Our Philosophy & Approach

Mustard Seeds Therapy’s philosophy is simple, every child learns best when they feel understood, supported, and engaged. We believe in early intervention and play-based learning that turns therapy into meaningful moments of growth. Our pediatric speech-language pathologists work closely with families to guide toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children through speech and language milestones with patience, creativity, and care. Each session blends evidence-based methods with everyday routines, helping children build lasting communication skills, and helping parents feel confident that real progress is happening at home and in life.

Play-based, child-centered therapy that motivates and engages.

Family-focused care, empowering parents through training and active involvement.

Emphasis on fun and meaningful sessions that feel like play or social interaction, not therapy.
